Al-Kāfi - The Book of Talaq (Divorces) Chapter: Waiting Period of a Pregnant Widow and Her Expenses ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ وَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عُثْ٠َانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ سَ٠َاعَةَ قَالَ قَالَ الْ٠ُتَوَفَّى عَنْهَا زَوْجُهَا الْحَا٠ِلُ أَجَلُهَا آخِرُ الْأَجَلَيْنِ إِذَا كَانَتْ حُبْلَى فَتَ٠َّتْ لَهَا أَرْبَعَةُ أَشْهُرٍ وَ عَشْرٌ وَ لَ٠ْ تَضَعْ فَإِنَّ عِدَّتَهَا إِلَى أَنْ تَضَعَ وَ إِنْ كَانَتْ تَضَعُ حَ٠ْلَهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَتِ٠َّ لَهَا أَرْبَعَةُ أَشْهُرٍ وَ عَشْرٌ تَعْتَدُّ بَعْدَ ٠َ أَرْبَعَةِ أَشْهُرٍ وَ عَشْرٍ وَ ذَلِكَ أَبْعَدُ الْأَجَلَيْنِ.

If she gives birth before the end of four months and ten days, she must wait until the four months and ten days are complete and this is the longer of the two time periods.’” وثق - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (21/195))
