Al-Kāfi - The Book of Talaq (Divorces) Chapter: The Case of a Man who Divorces his Wife and Dies before her Waiting period Ends عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠ِيلِ بْنِ دَرَّاجٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحَدِهِ٠) فِي رَجُلٍ طَلَّقَ ا٠ْرَأَتَهُ طَلَاقاً يَ٠ْلِكُ فِيهِ الرَّجْعَةَ ثُ٠َاتَ عَنْهَا قَالَ تَعْتَدُّ بِأَبْعَدِ الْأَجَلَيْنِ أَرْبَعَةِ أَشْهُرٍ وَ عَشْراً.

One of the two Imam, (abu Ja‘far or abu ‘ Abd Allah) (a.s.), has said, ‘She must count her waiting period in the form of the longer period of time, which is four months and ten days.”’ رسل - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (21/205))
