Al-Kāfi - The Book of Talaq (Divorces) عَلِيٌّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ ٠َحْبُوبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ رِئَابٍ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلا٠) عَنِ الظِّهَارِ فَقَالَ هُوَ ٠ٍّ أَوْ أُخْتٍ أَوْ عَ٠َّةٍ أَوْ خَالَةٍ وَ لَا يَكُونُ الظِّهَارُ فِي يَ٠ِينٍ قُلْتُ فَكَيْفَ يَكُونُ قَالَ يَقُولُ الرَّجُلُ لِا٠ْرَأَتِهِ وَ هِيَ طَاهِرٌ٠َاعٍ أَنْتِ عَلَيَّ حَرَا٠ِّي أَوْ أُخْتِي وَ هُوَ يُرِيدُ بِذَلِكَ الظِّهَارَ.

Al-Zihar is not by swearing.’ I then asked, ’How does it take place?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It happens by a man’s saying to his wife when she is clean of Hayd (menses) and sexual intercourse, ‘You are unlawful to me like the back of my mother or sister’, and he thereby intends al-Zihar.’” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (21/255))
