Al-Kāfi - The Book of Food

َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ الْجَعْفَرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) قَالَ بِأَيِّ شَيْ‏ءٍ يَأْ٠ْ فِي الْأُتْرُجِّ فَقُلْتُ يَأْ٠ُرُونَنَا أَنْ نَأْكُلَهُ قَبْلَ الطَّعَا٠ِ فَقَالَ إِنِّي آ٠ْ بِهِ بَعْدَ الطَّعَا٠2.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Bakr ibn Salih from ‘Abd Allah ibn Ibrahim al-Ja‘fariy who has said the following: “Abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), once asked, ‘What do your physicians recommend for you about citron?’ I replied, ‘They recommend us to eat citron before food.’ He (the Imam) said, ’I recommend you to eat it after food.’” ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (22/201))
