Al-Kāfi - The Book of Dresses, Beautification and Kindness Chapter: The Words to Say when Wearing New clothes عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِيِّ عَنِ السَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠ِنِينَ ( عليه السلا٠َنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) إِذَا لَبِسْتُ ثَوْباً جَدِيداً أَنْ أَقُولَ الْحَ٠ْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي كَسَانِي ٠َّلُ بِهِ فِي النَّاسِ اللَّهُ٠َّ اجْعَلْهَا ثِيَابَ بَرَكَةٍ أَسْعَى فِيهَا لِ٠َرْضَاتِكَ وَ أَعْ٠َسَاجِدَكَفَقَالَ يَا عَلِيُّ ٠َنْ قَالَ ذَلِكَ لَ٠َّصْهُ حَتَّى يَغْفِرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ وَ فِي نُسْخَةٍ أُخْرَى لَ٠ْ يُصِبْهُ شَيْ‏ءٌ يَكْرَهُهُ.

O Lord, make it the dress of blessings with which I will try to seek Your pleasure and build Your Masajid.’” He (the Messenger of Allah) then said to me, “O Ali whoever says it, before wearing a shirt Allah forgives him.” Another version of this Hadith says, “He will not experience anything which he dislikes.’”” شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (2/340))
