Al-Kāfi - The Book of Marriage Chapter: Detestability for Woman Ignoring Makeup َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َحْبُوبٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رِئَابٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) النِّسَاءَ أَنْ يَتَبَتَّلْنَ وَيُعَطِّلْنَ أَنْفُسَهُنَّ ٠1.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Mahbub from ibn Ri’ab from ibn abu Ya’fur who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, prohibited women from ignoring themselves due to laziness and turning themselves of no benefit for their husbands.’” صحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (20/321))
