Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn âIsmaâil from al-Fudayl from abu al-Sabbah al-Kinaniy who has narrated the following: âI once asked abu âAbd Allah (a.s.), about the meaning of the words of Allah, most Blessed, most High, âO believing people there must be two just (Muslim) witnesses when anyone of you is about to die or from other people.â (5:106) I asked, âWhat is the meaning of â(there must be) two from other people?â He (the Imam) said, âIt means two non-Muslims.â I then asked about âtwo just ones from among yourselvesâ, he (the Imam) said, âit means two Muslims.ââ جÙÙÙ - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (3/7))
