Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn âIsa from Yusuf ibn âAqif from Muhammad ibn Qays who has narrated the following: âAbu Jaâfar (a.s.), has said that about the case of a man who had a sheep told his people, âIf you eat all of it, it then is yours; but if you could not eat, then you must pay such and such amount.â â Amir al-Muâminin, Ali, issued a judgment that said, âIt is invalid.
There is nothing in eating food, more or lessâ; and he (the Imam) prohibited it.â صØÙØ - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (4/300))
