Abu Ali al-Ash‘ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn Hassan from Muhammad ibn Ali from Ali ibn Fiammad from ibn abu Ya’fur who has narrated the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘One who takes a sinful oath can wait only for forty nights (before being struck by misfortune).”’ ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (24/310))
