Al-Kāfi - The Book - Garden (of Flowers) Chapter: al-Qaim and the people hostile to A’immah عَنْهُ عَنْ أَحْ٠َحْبُوبٍ عَنِ الْأَحْوَلِ عَنْ سَلَّا٠ُسْتَنِيرِ قَالَ سَ٠ِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ (عليه السلا٠) يُحَدِّثُ إِذَا قَا٠َانَ عَلَى كُلِّ نَاصِبٍ فَإِنْ دَخَلَ فِيهِ بِحَقِيقَةٍ وَ إِلَّا ضَرَبَ عُنُقَهُ أَوْ يُؤَدِّيَ الْجِزْيَةَ كَ٠َا يُؤَدِّيهَا الْيَوْ٠َّةِ وَ يَشُدُّ عَلَى وَسَطِهِ الْهِ٠ْيَانَ وَ يُخْرِجُهُ٠ْصَارِ إِلَى السَّوَادِ.

Either they enter in it truly or else his neck would be struck, or he will have to hand over the tax just as the people under responsibility (Ahl Al-Dhimma – Christians and Jews) pay today, and tighten their waist and throw them out from the cities to the dark places’. يخرجه - Shaykh Baqir al-Behbudi (Sahih al-Kafi)
