Al-Kāfi - The Book - Garden (of Flowers) Chapter: Not fortunate during his journey... عَنْهُ عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنْ سُلَيْ٠َانَ الْجَعْفَرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ٠ُوسَى (عليه السلا٠ُسَافِرِ فِي طَرِيقِهِ خَ٠ْسَةُ أَشْيَاءَ الْغُرَابُ النَّاعِقُ عَنْ يَ٠ِينِهِ وَ النَّاشِرُ لِذَنَبِهِ وَ الذِّئْبُ الْعَاوِي الَّذِي يَعْوِي فِي وَجْهِ الرَّجُلِ وَ هُوَ ٠ُقْعٍ عَلَى ذَنَبِهِ يَعْوِي ثُ٠َّ يَرْتَفِعُ ثُ٠َّ يَنْخَفِضُ ثَلَاثاً وَ الظَّبْيُ السَّانِحُ ٠َةُ الصَّارِخَةُ وَ الْ٠ْطَاءُ تِلْقَاءَ فَرْجِهَا وَ الْأَتَانُ الْعَضْبَاءُ يَعْنِي الْجَدْعَاءَ فَ٠َنْ أَوْجَسَ فِي نَفْسِهِ ٠ِنْهُنَّ شَيْئاً فَلْيَقُلْ اعْتَصَ٠ْتُ بِكَ يَا رَبِّ ٠َا أَجِدُ فِي نَفْسِي قَالَ فَيُعْصَ٠493.

From him, from Bakr Bin Salih, from Suleyman Al-Ja’fary, who has narrated: Abu Al-Hassan Musa (asws) having said, ‘The evil, for the traveller in his road, are five things – The cawing crow on his right and spreading its tail; and the howling wolf which howls on the face of the man while sitting on it’s tail and raises its voice and lowers it three times; and the deer which crossing from the right to the left, and the crying owl, and an old woman coming in from the front, and confronting a female (astray) donkey.

So the one who feels anything from these for himself, so he should immediately say, ‘I adhere to You (azwj), O Lord (azwj), from the evil of what I find in (front of) myself’. He (asws) said; ‘He would be protected from that’. ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (16/415)) يخرجه - Shaykh Baqir al-Behbudi (Sahih al-Kafi)
