Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from Safwan ibn Yahya from âAbd al- Rahman ibn al-Hajjaj who has said the following: âAbu âAbd Allah (a.s.), has said, âZakat cannot be given to five kinds of people: father, mother, children, slaves, and oneâs wife, because they are oneâs dependents for whom one must provide sustenance.ââ
