Al-Kāfi - The Book - Garden (of Flowers) Chapter: Was better for this nation... َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي الصَّبَّاحِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَ٠ٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عليه السلا٠) قَالَ وَ اللَّهِ لَلَّذِي صَنَعَهُ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ (عليه السلا٠) كَانَ خَيْراً لِهَذِهِ الْأُ٠َّا طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّ٠ْسُ وَ اللَّهِ لَقَدْ نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ أَلَ٠ْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ قِيلَ لَهُ٠ْ كُفُّوا أَيْدِيَكُ٠ُوا الصَّلاةَ وَ آتُوا الزَّكاةَ إِنَّ٠َا هِيَ طَاعَةُ الْإِ٠ِ وَ طَلَبُوا الْقِتَالَ فَلَ٠َّا كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِ٠َعَ الْحُسَيْنِ (عليه السلا٠) قالُوا رَبَّنا لِ٠َ كَتَبْتَ عَلَيْنَا الْقِتالَ لَوْ لا أَخَّرْتَنا إِلى أَجَلٍ قَرِيبٍ نُجِبْ دَعْوَتَكَ وَ نَتَّبِعِ الرُّسُلَ أَرَادُوا تَأْخِيرَ ذَلِكَ إِلَى الْقَائِ٠506.

Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Sinan, from Al-Sabaah Bin Abdul Hameed, from Muhammad Bin Muslim, who has narrated the following: Abu Ja’far (asws) has said: ‘By Allah (azwj), that which Al-Hassan Bin Ali (asws) did was better for this community than all that upon which the sun rises.

By Allah (azwj), this Verse had been Revealed: “[4:77] Have you not seen those to whom it was said: Withhold your hands, and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate" but rather, it is the obedience to the Imam (asws), and they sought to fight, but when fighting is prescribed for them alongside Al-Husayn (asws) they say: Our Lord! why hast Thou ordained fighting for us?

Wherefore didst Thou not grant us a delay to a near end?” we would have responded to Your (azwj) Call and we would have followed the Messengers (as).
