Al-Khiṣāl - Part 5: On Five-Numbered Characteristics Chapter: The Best of the People are those who do Five Deeds د بن الوليد رضي الله عنه قال: حدثنا ٠د ابن الحسن الصفار قال: حدثنا أح٠د بن أبي عبد الله البرقي، عن إس٠ان بن جعفر النخعي، عن ٠وغيره عنأبي جعفر ٠د بن علي الباقر عليه٠قال: سئل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله عن خيار العباد، فقال: الذين إذا أحسنوا استبشروا، وإذا أساؤوا استغفروا، وإذا اعطوا شكروا، وإذا ابتلوا صبروا.

He (MGB) replied, ‘They are the ones who rejoice when they do good, and repent when they do evil. They thank you when you do something good for them, and persevere in the face of calamities. They forgive (others) when they get angry.’”
