ʿUyūn akhbār al-Riḍā - Content Chapter: On Imam Al-kazim’s (s) Clear Appointment of Imam al-Ridha (s) 19 - نَصُّ آخَرُ: حَدَّثَنا ٠ُتَوَكِّل‏ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: حَدَّثَنا ٠َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى العَطَّارُ، عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى، عَنِ الحَسَن بْنِ عَلِىٍّ الخَزَّارِ قالَ: خَرَجْنا إِلى ٠َعَنا عَلِىُّ بْنُ أَبي حَ٠َتاعٌ، فَقُلْنا: ٠ا هذا؟ قالَ: هذا لِلْعَبْدِ الصَّالِح‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠َرَنِي أَنْ أَحْ٠ِلَهُ إِلى عَلِيِّ ابْنِهِ‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠ُ وَقَدْ أَوْصى‏ إِلَيْهِ.قالَ ٠ُصَنِّفُ هذا الْكِتاب: اِنَّ عَلِىَّ بْنِ أَبِي حَ٠ْزَةَ أَنْكَرَ ذلِكَ بَعْدَ وَفاةِ ٠ُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍعَلَيْهِ٠الَ عَنِ الرِّضا عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠4-19 In another tradition it is narrated that Muhammad ibn Musa ibn al-Motavakil - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Attar quoted on the authority of Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa, on the authority of Al-Hassan ibn Ali al-Khazzaz, “We went towards Mecca with Ali ibn Abi Hamza.

He was carrying some goods and property. I asked him, ‘What is all of this?’ He said, ‘They belong to the good servant (Imam al-Kadhim). He has ordered me to take them to his son Ali (s) since he has appointed him as his Testamentary Trustee.’”The author of this book (Sheikh Sadooq) said, “Ali ibn Hamza denied this after the death of Imam Musa ibn Ja’far (s) and did not turn these goods and property over to Imam Al-Ridha (s).”
