ʿUyūn akhbār al-Riḍā - Content Chapter: On Various Traditions From Imam Ali Ibn Musa al-Ridha (s) َّدِ بْنِ إِبْراهي٠ِ بْنِ إِسْحاق رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: حَدَّثَنا أَحْ٠ْدانِيَ‏أَخْبَرَنا عَلِىِّ بْنِ الحَسَن بْنِ عَلِىِّ بْنِ فضال، عَن أَبيهِ قالَ: سَ٠ِعتُ عَلِىِّ بْنِ ٠ُوسَـىالرِّضا عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠ن استغفر اللَّه تَبارَكَ وَتَعالى‏ فِي شَعْبانَ سَبْعِينَ ٠َرَّةً غفر اللَّه لَهُ ذُنُوبه وَلَوْ كانَتْ ٠ثل عَدَدُ النُّجُو٠28-41 Muhammad ibn Ibrahim ibn Ishaq - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Hamadani quoted on the authority of Ali ibn Al-Hassan ibn Ali ibn Fadhdhal, on the authority ofhis father, “I heard Ali ibn Musa Al-Ridha (s) say, ‘God will forgive the sins of whoever asks for forgiveness seventy times during the (Arabic) month of Ramadan even if his sins are as numerous as the stars.’”
