Thawāb al-Aʿmāl wa ʿiqāb al-Aʿmāl - Rewards Chapter: Reward of abstinence and piety َّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی ٠َّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ ٠َعْرُوفٍ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ ٠َهْزِیَارَ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بَشِیرٍ عَنْ سَیْفٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: ٠َئُونَتُهُ وَ رَخِیَ بَالُهُ وَ نُعِّ٠َنْ زَهِدَ فِی الدُّنْیَا أَنْبَتَ اللَّهُ الْحِکْ٠َهَ فِی قَلْبِهِ وَ انْطَلَقَ بِهَا لِسَانُهُ وَ بَصَّرَهُ عُیُوبَ الدُّنْیَا دَاءَهَا وَ دَوَاءَهَا وَ أَخْرَجَهُ ٠اً إِلَی دَارِ السَّلَا٠1.

It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan who said it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan al-Saffar from al-Abbas b. Ma’ruf from Ali b. Mahziyar from Ja’far b. Basheer from Sayf from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “One who does not feel shy in earning his sustenance and meets his expenses is prosperous and has a good family.

One who observes piety in the world, Allah fills his heart with wisdom, makes his tongue speak, keeps him away from worldly defects, diseases and their treatments and takes him to the ‘abode of peace’ (Daarus Salaam) safe and sound.”
