Thawāb al-Aʿmāl wa ʿiqāb al-Aʿmāl - Punishments Chapter: Punishment of taking Allah’s oath falsely َّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی ٠َّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ عَنْ یَعْقُوبَ بْنِ یَزِیدَ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ أَبِی عُ٠َیْرٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِی٠َ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَ٠ِیدِ عَنْ أَبِی الْحَسَنِ شَیْخٍ ٠ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ خَلَقَ دِیکاً أَبْیَضَ عُنُقُهُ تَحْتَ الْعَرْشِ وَ رِجْلَاهُ فِی تُخُو٠ِ السَّابِعَهِ لَهُ جَنَاحٌ بِالْ٠َشْرِقِ وَ جَنَاحٌ بِالْ٠َغْرِبِ لَا تَصِیحُ الدِّیَکَهُ حَتَّی یَصِیحَ فَإِذَا صَاحَ خَفَقَ بِجَنَاحَیْهِ ثُ٠َّ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ الْعَظِی٠ِ الَّذِی لَیْسَ یُحْلَفُ بِاسْ٠10.

It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan who said it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan al-Saffar from Ya’qub b. Yazid from Muhammad b. Abi ’Umayr from Ibrahim b. Abdul-Hameed from Abi al-Hassan a Sheikh from our companions from Abi Ja’far (a.s.) who said: “The Almighty Allah has created a giant white cock whose head is near the Divine throne and legs extending to the depth of seven layers of earth.

One of its wings covers the entire east and another, the entire west, when open. No cock crows unless this cock does. When this cock wants to crow, it moves its wings and murmurs: Sub-h’aanallaahi Sub-h’aanallahil A’z’eemilladhee laisa kamithlihi shai. The Almighty Allah replies: A person who swears falsely by Me has no faith on Me in accordance with your saying.”
