Thawāb al-Aʿmāl wa ʿiqāb al-Aʿmāl - Punishments Chapter: Punishment of including the pleasure of people with the pleasure of Allah while performing a good deed وَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع ٠ِلَ لِلنَّاسِ کَانَ ثَوَابُهُ عَلَی النَّاسِ إِنَّ کان [کُلَ] رِیَاءٍ شِرْکٌ.

وَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَ ٠ِلَ لِی وَ لِغَیْرِی فَهُوَ لِ٠2. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) said, “One who performs a good deed for the sake of people, his outcome is along with those people only. Surely every showoff is polytheism. The Almighty Allah says: One who performs a good deed for Me as well as for others he has done it for others and not for Me.”
