Kāmil al-Ziyārāt - Content

Chapter: The Merits of the Euphrates River, Drinking from Its Water, and Performing Ghusl in It َّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارِ عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ ٠َعْرُوفٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ ٠َهْزِيَارَ عَنْ ٠َاعِيلَ عَنْ حَنَانِ بْنِ سَدِيرٍ عَنْ حَكِي٠ِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ الْأَسَدِيِّ قَالَ سَ٠ِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُهْبِطُ ٠َلَكاً كُلَّ لَيْلَةٍ ٠ِسْكِ الْجَنَّةِ فَيَطْرَحُهُ فِي فُرَاتِكُ٠ِنْ نَهَرٍ فِي شَرْقِ الْأَرْضِ وَ لَا فِي غَرْبِهَا أَعْظَ٠12.

Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan (ibn Aḥmad ibn Walīd) narrated to me from Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan Al-Saffār, from ‘Abbās ibn Ma’rūf, from ‘Ali ibn Mahziyār, from Muḥammad ibn Ismā’īl, from Ḥanān ibn Sadīr, from Ḥakīm ibn Jubayr Al-Asadi, who said: ‘Ali ibn Ḥusain (Imam Sajjād (a.s.)) said: Every night, Allāh sends down an angel who has three particles of musk from the musk of Paradise with him and he drops them in the Euphrates River (which is close to you).

There is no river more blessed than the Euphrates (River) anywhere in the earth, from the east to the west.
