My father, my brother, âAli ibn Ḥusain, and others all narrated to me from Saâd ibn âAbdillÄh ibn AbÄ« Khalaf, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn âIsÄ Al-Ashâari, from âAli ibn Ḥakam, from some of our companions, who said: AbÅ« âAbdillÄh (Imam SÄdiq (a.s.)) said: When you want to go to the ZiyÄrah of Ḥusain (a.s.), go to his ZiyÄrah while you are saddened, anguished, grief-stricken, disheveled, covered with dust, hungry, and thirsty, for verily Ḥusain (a.s.) was killed while he was saddened, anguished, disheveled, covered with dust, hungry, and thirsty.
(After you perform your ZiyÄrah), ask him for your needs and then leave. Do not settle in KarbalÄ.
