Al-Kāfi - The Book about people with Divine Authority Chapter: The Imams (a.s.) possess Divine authority, they are Envied and Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, has spoken of them 5ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َرَ بْنِ أُذَيْنَةَ عَنْ بُرَيْدٍ الْعِجْلِيِّ عَنْ ابي جعفر (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) فِي قَوْلِ الله تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى فَقَدْ آتَيْنا آلَ إِبْراهِي٠َ الْكِتابَ وَالْحِكْ٠ُ الرُّسُلَ وَالانْبِيَاءَ وَالائِ٠َّةَ فَكَيْفَ يُقِرُّونَ فِي آلِ إِبْرَاهِي٠) وَيُنْكِرُونَهُ فِي آلِ ٠َّدٍ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) قَالَ قُلْتُ وَآتَيْناهُ٠ُ أَنْ جَعَلَ فِيهِ٠ْ أَطَاعَ الله وَ٠ْ عَصَى الله فَهُوَ الْ٠5.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Muhammad Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from ’Umar ibn Udhayna from Burayd al-‘IJli from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following about the words of Allah, the Most Holy, ““We have given to the family of Abraham the Book, Wisdom, and a great Kingdom.” (4:54) “Great kingdom means that He set Imamat (leadership) in the descendants of Abraham, Whoever would obey them he has obeyed Allah and whoever would disobey them has disobeyed Allah and thus is the great kingdom.” يخرجه - Shaykh Baqir al-Behbudi (Sahih al-Kafi) حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (2/412))
