Al-Kāfi - The Book about people with Divine Authority Chapter: The Issue of Disappearance (of the twelfth Imam (a.s.) from Public Sight َّدٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ ٠ُوسَى بْنِ الْقَاسِ٠ُعَاوِيَةَ الْبَجَلِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَخِيهِ ٠ُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْه٠) فِي قَوْلِ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قُلْ أَ رَأَيْتُ٠َعِينٍ قَالَ إِذَا غَابَ عَنْكُ٠14.

Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Musa ibn al-Qasim ibn Mu‘awiya al-Bajali from Ali ibn Ja’far from his brother, Musa ibn Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following about the words of Allah, the Most Majestic and Gracious: “Say, “Have you not thought that if your water was to dry up, who would bring you water from the spring?” (67:30).

He said, “When your Imam would disappear from among you, then who will bring you a new Imam?” يخرجه - Shaykh Baqir al-Behbudi (Sahih al-Kafi) شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (4/49))
