Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn âIsa from Ibn Abi âUmayr from Jamil ibn Darraj who has said the following: âI asked Abu âAbdillah (a.s.) about belief.
He said, âIt is to testify that no one deserves to be worshipped except Allah and that Muhammad (a.s.) is the Messenger of Allah.â I asked, âIs it not a deed?â He said, âYes, it is a deed.â 1 then asked, âIs deed of belief?â He said, âOneâs belief does not take any root without deed and deed is from belief.ââ صØÙØ - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (7/246))
