Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Yahya ibn Zakariya from his father Zakariya ibn Musa from al-Yasaâ ibn âAbd Allah al-Qummiy who has said the following: âI once asked abu âAbd Allah (a.s.), about a man who performs Salah (prayer) for a dead body alone. He (the Imam) said, âYes, he can do so.â I then asked, âCan two people perform Salah (prayer) for a dead body?
He (the Imam) said, âYes, but one of them stands behind the other and not on his side.ââ جاÙÙ Ù - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (14/30))
