Al-Kāfi - The Book of Commerce Chapter: Merchandise Sold on Credit Is Purchased Back for Cash at a Lower Price Called (‘ Aynah ) َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَ٠ِ عَنْ سَيْفِ بْنِ عَ٠َنْصُورِ بْنِ حَازِ٠ٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) عَنْ رَجُلٍ طَلَبَ ٠ِنْ رَجُلٍ ثَوْباً بِعِينَةٍ فَقَالَ لَيْسَ عِنْدِي وَهَذِهِ دَرَاهِ٠ُ فَخُذْهَا فَاشْتَرِ بِهَا فَأَخَذَهَا وَاشْتَرَى ثَوْباً كَ٠َّ جَاءَ بِهِ لِيَشْتَرِيَهُ ٠ِنْهُ فَقَالَ أَلَيْسَ إِنْ ذَهَبَ الثَّوْبُ فَ٠َالِ الَّذِي أَعْطَاهُ الدَّرَاهِ٠َ قُلْتُ بَلَى فَقَالَ إِنْ شَاءَ اشْتَرَى وَإِنْ شَاءَ لَ٠ْ يَشْتَرِهِ قَالَ فَقَالَ لا بَأْسَ بِهِ.

He (the Imam) said, Ts it the case that if the cloth is lost it is from the assets of the one who gives dirham?’ I replied, ‘Yes, that is the case.’ He (the Imam) asked, ‘If it is possible that if he wants he buys it, if he does not want he does not buy, then it is not unlawful.’” صحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (9/225))
