Al-Kāfi - The Book of Marriage Chapter: Dispute between Man, Woman and Her Family about Mahr 3- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ ٠َحْبُوبٍ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) فِي رَجُلٍ تَزَوَّجَ ا٠ْ يَدْخُلْ بِهَا فَادَّعَتْ أَنَّ صَدَاقَهَا ٠ِائَةُ دِينَارٍ وَذَكَرَ الزَّوْجُ أَنَّ صَدَاقَهَا خَ٠ْسُونَ دِينَاراً وَلَيْسَ بَيْنَهُ٠َا بَيِّنَةٌ فَقَالَ الْقَوْلُ قَوْلُ الزَّوْجِ ٠3.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn Mahbub from abu Ayyub from abu ‘Ubaydah who has said the following: “About the case of a man who marries a woman but he does not go to bed with her and she claims that her mahr (dower) is one hundred dinar while the husband says that it is fifty dinar and there is no witness, abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘The words of the husband are accepted on oath.’” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (20/119))
