Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi âUmayr from âIsmaâil ibn Bashshar who has said the following: âOnce a man asked abu âAbd Allah (a.s.), saying, âI pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause, is drinking wine more evil or not performing Salat (prayer)?â He (the Imam) said, âDrinking wine is more evil.â He (the Imam) then said, âDo you know why?â The man said, âNo, I do not know.â He (the Imam) said, âIt is because he ends up in a condition in which he does not know his Lord.ââ جÙÙÙ - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (2/259))
