Al-Kāfi - The Book of Dresses, Beautification and Kindness عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ ٠َحْبُوبٍ عَنْ هِشَا٠ٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلا٠) أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) أَوْصَى رَجُلًا ٠ٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ إِيَّاكَ وَ إِسْبَالَ الْإِزَارِ وَ الْقَ٠ِيصِ فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ ٠َخِيلَةِ وَ اللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْ٠5.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn Mahbub from Hisham ibn Salim from abu Basir who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has stated this Hadith.

‘The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, once advised a man from banu Tamim and said to him, ‘You must never allow the loincloth and shirt to hang down to drag; it is the sign of arrogance and Allah does not love arrogance.’” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (22/338))
