He was a liar. He openly fabricated ḥadÄ«ths. He claimed strange rijÄl who are not recognized. He depended on unknown narrators who are not mentioned.
None of his narrations are good except for what he narrated from the books of his grandfather, which others apart than him have narrated, and from ʿAlī b. Aḥmad b. ʿAlī al-ʿAqīqī, from his famous written books.
