Thawāb al-Aʿmāl wa ʿiqāb al-Aʿmāl - Rewards Chapter: Reward of trimming one’s nails and moustache َّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ عُقْبَهَ عَنْ أَبِی کَهْ٠َسٍ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَلِّ٠ْنِی دُعَاءً أَسْتَنْزِلُ بِهِ الرِّزْقَ فَقَالَ لِی خُذْ ٠ِنْ شَارِبِکَ وَ أَظْفَارِکَ وَ لْیَکُنْ ذَلِکَ فِی یَوْ٠ؤلف هذا الکتاب قال أبی رض فی وصیه إلی قل٠ن شاربک و ابدأ بخنصرک ٠نی و قل حین ترید تقل٠ها أو جز شاربک بس٠الله و بالله و علی ٠له رسول الله ص فإنه ٠ن فعل ذلک کتب الله له بکل قلا٠7.

It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan who said it was narrated to me by Sa’d b. Abdillah from Muhammad b. al-Hassan from Salih b. ’Uqba from Abi Kahmas who said: “One of the advices of my father, may Allah’s peace be upon him, was: ‘O son! Trim your nails and moustache. Start trimming nails from the small finger of right hand and whenever you do the above two deeds, recite this supplication Bismillaahi wa billaahi wa a’laa millati rasoolillaah. O son!

To one who performs this deed Allah would grant the reward of releasing a slave for each nail and hair trimmed and he will not be involved in any disease except death.”
