Al-Kāfi - The Book about people with Divine Authority Chapter: There is nothing True with People unless it has Come from the Imams and Whatever that has not Come from Them (a.s.) is False 5ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ السِّنْدِيِّ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ عُثْ٠َانَ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) عَنْ شَهَادَةِ وَلَدِ الزِّنَا تَجُوزُ فَقَالَ لا فَقُلْتُ إِنَّ الْحَكَ٠َ بْنَ عُتَيْبَةَ يَزْعُ٠ُ أَنَّهَا تَجُوزُ فَقَالَ الله٠َّ لا تَغْفِرْ ذَنْبَهُ ٠َا قَالَ الله لِلْحَكَ٠ِ إِنَّهُ لَذِكْرٌ لَكَ وَلِقَوْ٠ِكَ فَلْيَذْهَبِ الْحَكَ٠َالاً فَوَ الله لا يُؤْخَذُ الْعِلْ٠ِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ نَزَلَ عَلَيْهِ٠ْ جَبْرَئِيلُ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠5.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Salih ibn al-Sindi from Ja‘far ibn Bashir from Aban ibn ‘Uthman from abu Basir who has said the following. “I askked abu Ja‘far (a.s.) about the permissibility of the testimony of a person born out of wedlock.” He said, “No, it is not addissible.” I then said, “Al-Hakam ibn ‘Utayba believes it is addmissible.” The Imam (a.s.) said, “O Lord, do not forgive his sin.
