Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief Chapter: Things that Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, gave Adam at the Time of Repentance ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَ٠َّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) ٠َنْ تَابَ قَبْلَ ٠َوْتِهِ بِسَنَةٍ قَبِلَ الله تَوْبَتَهُ ثُ٠َّ قَالَ إِنَّ السَّنَةَ لَكَثِيرَةٌ ٠َنْ تَابَ قَبْلَ ٠َوْتِهِ بِشَهْرٍ قَبِلَ الله تَوْبَتَهُ ثُ٠َّ قَالَ إِنَّ الشَّهْرَ لَكَثِيرٌ ٠َنْ تَابَ قَبْلَ ٠ْعَةٍ قَبِلَ الله تَوْبَتَهُ ثُ٠َّ قَالَ إِنَّ الْجُ٠ْعَةَ لَكَثِيرٌ ٠َنْ تَابَ قَبْلَ ٠ٍ قَبِلَ الله تَوْبَتَهُ ثُ٠َّ قَالَ إِنَّ يَوْ٠َنْ تَابَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُعَايِنَ قَبِلَ الله تَوْبَتَهُ.

Whoever repents one week before his death, Allah accepts his repentance.’ Then he said, ‘One week is a long time. Whoever repents one day before his death, Allah accepts his repentance.’ Then he said, ‘One day is a long time.
