Al-Kāfi - The Book of Haj

Chapter: Expiation for Harming Birds and Eggs in the State of al-’Ihram 1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حَ٠َّادِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ حَرِيزِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الله عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠ُ إِذَا أَصَابَ حَ٠َةً فَفِيهَا شَاةٌ وَإِنْ قَتَلَ فِرَاخَهُ فَفِيهِ حَ٠َلٌ وَإِنْ وَطِىَ الْبَيْضَ فَعَلَيْهِ دِرْهَ٠1.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Hariz ibn ‘ Abd Allah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If one in the state of Ihram kills a pigeon, the ransom for it is one sheep, if he kill its chick its ransom is one lamb, and if he steps on its egg its ransom is one dirham.’” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (17/378))
